History
College of Vocational Studies (CVS) was established in 1972 by Delhi Administration as an intermediate college in order to provide vocational training to its students. The year 1976 saw the establishment of the first-degree course for its students with the introduction of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. During this period, the college started offering vocational courses in different disciplines.
In 1986, CVS became affiliated with the University of Delhi and got further recognition from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). By 1989 & 1990, there were 20 courses and 5 Diploma courses added to its list as a part of its expansion effort. The Department of Adult and Continuing Education and Extension Services was also established during this period.
In 1994, CVS got accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation which extended its validity till 1999 when it once again got re-accreditation which is still valid. In conjunction with all these developments, Joint Degree Programmes with various other Universities have also been introduced by CVS since 1997 & are ongoing ever since then.
As part of improving infrastructure within CVS, more classrooms have been built since 2001 which significantly improved its outlook along with better lab facilities & overall resource availability. The College had also gone through Phase-1 renovation in 2015-16 under the academic development plan at Delhi University, which included a new library wing along with some well-equipped laboratories & smart classrooms as well.
Overall, the College Of Vocational Studies has seen great success over the past decades owing to its quality educational set up where students can develop themselves professionally in their desired vocations as per their choices & leverage their resources well while continuing higher education programmes at CVS itself or opt for few alternatives available alongside standard DU undergraduate & postgraduate course offerings currently running therein which makes it quite an attractive option for younger generations even now, so they can excel conveniently nowadays.

- Establish clear rules and expectations: College staff should communicate expectations for students to participate in class activities, respect each other’s opinions and uphold standards of academic integrity.
- Utilize teaching strategies that engage all learners: Differentiated instruction and active learning strategies can be used to make learning meaningful for diversified student needs.
- Foster an inclusive environment: Institutions should practice inclusion of diverse cultures, backgrounds, religions, gender identities and sexual orientations across the campus while promoting open dialogue through student-led initiatives or forums.
- Emphasize the importance of the physical & mental well-being of students: Students should be provided with access to counselling services and activities designed to promote a healthy lifestyle, such as fitness classes or meditation sessions.
- Conduct regular internal assessment & improvement processes: Periodic review of academic objectives and standards set by the administration is important in order to identify gaps in implementation and areas for potential improvements based on feedback from potential stakeholders and other concerned personnel internally or externally.
