According to officials from Delhi University, PG Admissions at DU for the academic session 2024-25 will commence on April 25 and continue until May 25. The Dean of Admissions, Haneet Gandhi, announced this during a press conference. Additionally, it was mentioned that admissions for undergraduate courses will begin in the second phase, following the completion of the CUET-UG examinations. Gandhi specified that the dates for UG admissions will be disclosed by mid-May.
PG Admissions at DU will be open for 13,500 postgraduate seats this year, including those funded by the Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board, according to announcements from officials. In addition, three B.Tech programmes will each have 120 seats, while the BA LLB and BBA LLB courses each have 60 seats.
Among the postgraduate offerings, new courses such as MA Hindu Studies, MA Public Health, MA Chinese Studies, MA Korean Studies, and Master in Fine Arts will be available for prospective students. During the press conference, Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh highlighted the university’s improved performance in QS rankings and expressed the goal of placing within the top 10 in the NIRF rankings.
Last year, the university implemented the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) to manage undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) admissions. Applications were accepted through this system based on performance in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). While the results for the CUET PG 2024 exam have been released, the CUET UG exam is scheduled for May.
This year, the CUET PG exam took place from March 11 to March 28, attracting approximately 4,62,603 unique registered candidates. A significant number of universities, totalling 190, including central, state, and private institutions, and others, participated in the CUET PG examination this year. Among these institutions, the prestigious Delhi University (DU) was also part of the CUET PG process.

Delhi University now calculates admission based on the CUET score of the students. The Common University Entrance Test (CUET PG – 2024) has been introduced for the academic year 2024–2025 to facilitate admission to various postgraduate programs in Central and State Universities and Deemed/Private Universities. This initiative aims to provide equal opportunities to candidates from diverse backgrounds.
