Best Practices
- Teachers should focus on creating an engaging and empowering environment for students to encourage healthy competition and proper physical education learning.
- Comprehensive lesson plans should be created for each lesson to ensure that the teacher has identified the objectives, activities, learning resources, assessments and performance tasks for the day.
- Create a learning atmosphere where inclusivity and team spirit take centre stage, making sure everyone gets an equal opportunity to participate and contribute.
- Provide ample opportunities for practice with different kinds of sports equipment so that students have a good familiarity with them before having competitive practice or during tournaments.
- Foster a dynamic curriculum aimed at facilitating strength, speed, agility, coordination & flexibility adequately catering to students’ individual skill sets and interests
- Have timeouts planned every day in between classroom teaching sessions that include fun physical activity games or exercises like yoga or tai chi suitable for all ages
- Provide alternative options when assessing student’s performance like music-based activities instead of traditionally tracking their track times etc that makes learning enjoyable
