It is possible to get admission at Delhi University without CUET Examination. You can get admission at DU SOL as it does not require a CUET score.

Admissions to Delhi University have always been a top choice for students who want to study popular courses like Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Commerce. Even though Delhi University’s admission cut-offs remain high due to the CUET, students who have passed Class 12 can achieve their dream of studying at Delhi University. They can choose a number of unique certificate courses offered by the DU SOL. It is very easy to get admission in Delhi University SOL without any entrance examination.

Also, CUET scores are not required for admission into courses offered by DU SOL, the DU School of Open Learning. DU SOL provides various professional and technical training programs as well as short-term certificate courses for over 60 years in subjects like history, political science, and commerce, among others.

Moreover, DU SOL students have the option to migrate to regular DU colleges after completing their first year.

What is DU SOL?

DU SOL is the School of Open Learning at the University of Delhi. It is an educational institution in India affiliated with Delhi University. DU SOL is designed to help students who can not attend regular classes. It was established in 1962.

Its primary goal is to provide higher education opportunities to individuals facing challenges like job commitments, financial constraints, or personal reasons.

DU SOL offers a diverse number of undergraduate and postgraduate courses including subjects such as humanities, business, and science. These courses have received approval from the University of Delhi, ensuring their quality of distance education.

DU SOL helps students by providing study materials, online resources, and occasionally organises contact classes and counselling sessions.

DU SOL has a distinctive admission process and academic calendar. This is made as per the needs of distance learners. These courses offer students the flexibility to create their study schedules. They come at a significantly lower cost compared to traditional college programs.

DU SOL opens doors to higher education for those who require a more flexible and affordable learning option, thereby making education accessible to a wider audience.

DU SOL Admission Eligibility Criteria 

You only require your 13th board exam result to get admission in Delhi University SOL. Also, there are no age restrictions to get admission in Delhi University SOL. Each course has specific eligibility criteria at DU SOL, therefore, students should check that before applying.

For BA (Hons) Economics, one of the most popular courses of DU, students need a minimum of 60% marks in Class 12th with Mathematics as a subject. DU SOL has added some new courses also. 

How to get admission in DU SOL

New faculties have been hired for the new courses. While most DU SOL programs require weekend offline classes. MBA is the course having the exception that it has unlimited seats. The DU SOL admission forms will be available this week.

DU SOL is aligned with the National Education Policy 2020 and UGCF curriculum. It aims to prepare students for the workforce by offering skill-based courses. Their focus is on making students ready for the industrial and corporate sector.

What is New at DU SOL?

For undergraduates, DU SOL has introduced three fresh courses, which are Bachelor of Business Administration in Financial Investment Analysis (BBA-FIA), Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), and Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Economics.

Also, For the students pursuing postgraduate studies, DU SOL now offers the Master of Business Administration (MBA), Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLISc), and Master of Library and Information Science (MLISc).

DU SOL added these new courses to cater to a broader range of academic interests and career paths. The BBA-FIA program focuses on financial investment analysis and prepares students for roles in finance and investment and the BMS offers a comprehensive management education.

In the postgraduate courses, the MBA program equips students with advanced business skills. BLISc and MLISc programs are ideal for those students who are interested in library and information science careers.

In addition, These new courses enhance the educational opportunities available at DU SOL, enabling students to pursue their passions and achieve their career goals.

How to get admission in Delhi University SOL?

DU SOL provides admission to more than 25 undergraduate and postgraduate courses. You can directly get admission in Delhi University SOL without needing to give the CUET exam. They have introduced 6 new programs like BMS, BBA, BA (Hons.) Economics, Library and Information Science, and MBA.

Moreover, DU SOL follows the Undergraduate Curriculum Framework (UGCF) as per the National Education Policy (NEP). Under this framework, UG degrees can take three to four years with options to receive certificates or diplomas along the way.

To get admission in Delhi University SOL, you need to pass your 10+2 exams for UG courses. Similarly, for PG admissions, you must hold a relevant bachelor’s degree. The DU SOL admission process typically starts around June or July each year. If you are interested and meet the eligibility criteria, you can get admission in Delhi University SOL courses.

The process of applying for admission to Delhi University School of Open Learning (DU SOL) for all courses is exclusively conducted through an online mode. Prospective candidates interested in securing admission can follow the detailed steps outlined below to successfully complete their application process:

  • Access the Official Website: The initial step involves visiting the official website of DU SOL, which can be found at sol.du.ac.in.
  • Program Selection and Application Initiation: Once on the website, candidates are required to select the specific academic programs they wish to apply for. After making the selections, click on ‘Apply Now’ option.
  • Course and Personal Details Submission: On the subsequent pages of the application, applicants are prompted to enter comprehensive information. This includes academic course details and personal particulars. Must ensure the accuracy of your information.
  • Document Upload: As part of the application process, candidates are required to digitally upload scanned copies of all relevant documents. This step is critical as it substantiates the information provided and facilitates a smoother review of the application.
  • Application Fee Payment: To finalise the application submission, candidates must make a payment of INR 500/-. This fee can typically be paid online through various payment methods supported by the DU SOL website. Applicants should retain proof of payment for future reference.
  • Application Submission: After successfully completing all the previous steps, applicants can submit their application forms. This marks the official submission of the application for consideration by the admission authorities.
  • Application Form Download: It is advisable for candidates to download and retain a digital copy of the submitted application form. This ensures that they have a record of their application and payment details for future reference and communication.
Documents required for admission in DU SOL

Documents Required for Admission at DU SOL

Ensure that you have completed all the necessary steps and gathered the required documents for your application:

  • Completely filled out application form.
  • A bank draft or cashier’s check for the admission confirmation fee.
  • Two recent passport-sized photographs, one for the application and another for your future identity card.
  • Self-attested photocopies of your Class X and XII Certificates.
  • Self-attested copies of your graduation marks sheets for all years of your undergraduate program.
  • For current-year students, an original Provisional Certificate of Graduation; other students should submit a photocopy of their degree certificate.
  • The original Migration Certificate.
  • Self-attested photocopies of any Reserve Category Certificates, if applicable, pertaining to the candidate.
  • The original Income Certificate or a BPL Ration Card, as required.
  • If applicable, provide a Disability Certificate to support your application.
