About Music Society of Aryabhatta College
Virtuoso, the music society of Aryabhatta College, Delhi University, is one of the most active society of the college. The society is a platform for students who are interested in the field of music to connect, perform, and imbibe a sense of leadership along with creativity and confidence. To enable this, Virtuoso provide students with opportunities to perform in inter and intra college competitions, and perform in college events as well.
We promote musical creativity and expression, and allow for learning to take place through the act of practice and performance. Virtuoso is an inclusive society, acknowledging the diversity of our culture, and the diversity in musical expression.
EVENTS
Auditions (January, 2021):
Auditions were held. This help the society understand the talent that are in the college. Anyone with an interest in any genre of music are welcomed: from Indian classical to bollywood, from beatboxing to rapping, from western rock to pop. We create a platform that is inclusive of all. This auditions, which is supposed to happen around August to September of 2020 had to be done in January 2021 because of the unprecedented times we were living in. Semesters started late, and we adapted. Even with the change in time, we still move forward with the understanding that music can help us grow, can help us through difficult times, and can give us a platform to connect with each other.
The 22nd Kargil Vijay Diwas (July, 2021):
On the 22nd Kargil Vijay Diwas, students of the Music Society- Nehal Gupta, Dhairya Mohla, Daksh Setia, Aishwarya, Yashraj and Nelson Meena, participated in the event organized by the college and sent across videos of them singing patriotic songs, and remembering the martyrs of our nation. “AZAADI KE AMRIT MAHAUTSAV (August 2021)
“AZAADI KE AMRIT MAHAUTSAV” event on the occasion of the 75th Independence Day of our nation. The students were required to record the national anthem and upload it, so as to create a world record of the highest number of Indians singing the anthem together.
