Delhi University is giving a second chance to students who didn’t complete their undergraduate or postgraduate degree. It allows college dropouts to earn their degree. It will be held in both annual and semester modes.

The notification released on March 08, 2024, stated “ all the concerned former students (Regular, NCWEB, SOL/External Cell) of the final year of undergraduate/postgraduate/ professional courses who appeared earlier in Centenary chance special examination phase-I and could not complete their degree are hereby informed that they can register for Centenary Chance special examination phase-ll with a maximum of four papers”.

DU Centenary Exam Notification

Students can go to the Delhi University website and fill out the exam form. The last date to fill out the form for Centenary Chance Special Examination Phase II is April 17, 2024.

This is the second time this exam is being conducted in DU’s Centenary year (From May 01, 2022). The first such exam was held between October 16 and November 11, 2022. The application deadline has been extended until April 17, 2024 therefore candidates are urged to take this opportunity. Students can submit their application at the official website.

What is the DU Centenary Chance Special Exams?

The Delhi University offers special exams known as the DU Centenary Chance Special Exams to students who, for a variety of reasons, were unable to appear for their normal exams. It enables those who left college early to obtain their degree. There will be an annual version in addition to a semester version.

In honour of DU’s centenary year, this exam is being offered twice (starting on May 01, 2022). The first exam of this kind took place in 2022 between October 16 and November 11. According to DU regulations, students pursuing professional programs, postgraduate students, and undergraduate students who have finished their coursework and met all course requirements will be eligible for the centennial chance.

Eligibility Criteria of DU Centenary Chance Special Exams

This is a one-time chance for former students who were enrolled in Delhi University before the 2015–16 academic year but were unable to clear their final test to receive their degree. For undergraduate programs, it is required that these applicants are in their third year, and for postgraduate programs, their final or second year.

To apply for the Centenary Special Chance Exam, former students from the normal, NCWEB, and SOL departments are eligible. The maximum number of papers that can be taken for an examination is restricted to four subjects.

Application Process of DU Centenary Chance Special Exams

Candidates can fill out the DU Centenary Chance Special Exams form on the official website. In addition, they must upload the confirmed admit card for the Centenary Chance Special Examination. It has been also notified that fees once submitted will not be refunded under any circumstance.

Faculty, departments, colleges and centres have been urged to complete the confirmation and verification of the exam forms by April 18, 2024, by Delhi University. In conclusion, students who, for a variety of reasons, were unable to complete their degrees within the allotted time frame, can find a lifeline in the DU Centenary Chance Special Exams.

Q. When is the last day to submit the exam form?

The application deadline has been extended until April 17, 2024 therefore candidates are urged to take this opportunity as soon as possible.

Q. Is it required for students to be in their final year? 

Yes, students need to have been in the last year of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree. For undergraduate programs, it is required that these applicants are in their third year, and for postgraduate programs, their final or second year.

Q. What is the maximum number of papers allowed?

The maximum Number of papers allowed is 4. Therefore, the maximum number of papers that can be taken for an examination by a student is restricted to four subjects.
