About Shivaji College
Shivaji College stands as a prominent educational institution in West Delhi, holding an ‘A’ grade accreditation from NAAC. In 2017, it garnered recognition as one of the top 10 science colleges in India, according to a survey conducted by India Today.
This esteemed college operates under the stewardship of the Delhi government. Its inception dates back to 1961 when it was founded by the Honourable Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh, a distinguished Union Minister for Agriculture, and a renowned figure in social activism and farming leadership. His vision was to provide higher education opportunities for both male and female students in the predominantly rural area of Matiala. In 1967, the Government of Delhi assumed trusteeship of Shivaji College, relocating it to Karampura. Subsequently, in 1976, the college found its permanent home in the Raja Garden campus.

History of Shivaji College
Shivaji College, previously recognized as Government Day and Evening College, was established in 1964 under the visionary leadership of Dharam Vira, the then Education Minister of Delhi. Situated in the Raja Garden area of North-West Delhi, this institution holds accreditation from the University Grants Commission and was once affiliated with Delhi University.
The college derives its name from the illustrious Indian warrior and founder of the Maratha Empire, Maharaja Shivaji. - Shivaji College organised a two-day interactive workshop on Resume building and GD/PI (Group Discussion/Personal Interview) skills, conducted by consultant Ms Renuka Madan, on August 30-31, 2019. This workshop aimed to enhance students’ abilities in crafting effective resumes and honing their skills for group discussions and personal interviews.
- In March 2020, the college hosted an Internship and Job Fair, which saw the participation of around 40 companies, including prominent names like Sharekhan, GMR Aviation, Investiture, Outlook, Evelyn Learning, and many more.
