History Of Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College

Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College (ARSD) was established in 1959 and it is one of the oldest colleges of the University of Delhi.

Named after the Hindu saint Atmaram, the college was established under the guidance of Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, a noted educationist, who wanted to bring about a revolution in Hindu theology.

ARSD was initially started as an ‘Intermediate Science College’ and later undergraduate courses were added to its curriculum. Today, it is one of the top Arts Colleges and Science Colleges in North Central Delhi. Over the years, the college has grown from strength to strength and has excelled academically as well with its students achieving distinction in multiple fields such as medicine, engineering and media.

Studies conducted for assessment of the college’s academic performance have consistently shown that ARSD is among the top performing colleges of Delhi University with some courses having a 100% pass percentage every year since 2011 academics year onward.
