In a groundbreaking development aimed at fostering academic and cultural collaboration, a MoU signed between DU and Pamulang University, Indonesia. The first official meeting under this agreement, held virtually on November 15, 2024, brought together key representatives from both institutions to explore avenues of cooperation and set the foundation for a transformative partnership.

The meeting, scheduled between 12:00 and 1:00 PM IST, marked a significant milestone in Indo-Indonesian academic relations. It provided a platform for both institutions to discuss their shared vision of fostering knowledge exchange, capacity-building initiatives, and cultural understanding. Distinguished speakers from both sides presented their perspectives, setting an optimistic tone for the collaboration.

Opening Session and Warm Welcome

The meeting commenced with a warm welcome from Prof. Pankaj Tyagi, who extended greetings to the attendees. In his opening remarks, Prof. Tyagi emphasized the importance of such partnerships in broadening educational horizons and nurturing meaningful academic exchanges. His address highlighted the commitment of both institutions to leveraging this collaboration to enhance opportunities for students and faculty.

Moderating the session, Dr. Kholil Azis from Pamulang University skilfully guided the proceedings. Dr. Azis introduced the key speakers, providing them with a platform to share their expectations and visions for the partnership, ensuring a seamless and engaging discussion.

Institutional Perspectives and Future Vision

Prof. Sadanand Prasad, Principal of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar College, took the stage to outline the college’s vision and aspirations for this collaboration. Prof. Prasad expressed optimism about the potential of the MoU signed between DU and Pamulang University to promote global engagement and create avenues for shared learning. He reiterated the institution’s dedication to delivering quality education and equipping students with the tools to succeed in a globalised world.

Adding to this, Dr. M. Wildan, Rector for Student Affairs at Pamulang University, shared his vision for the MOU. He underscored the significance of fostering student growth through exchange programs and capacity-building initiatives. Dr. Wildan highlighted how this partnership aligns with Pamulang University’s mission to prepare students for the challenges of an interconnected global workforce.

Prof. Bishnu Mohan Dash, convener of the Academic Development Society for Students at Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar College, delved into potential programs and initiatives that would arise from the partnership. Prof. Dash detailed plans for collaborative research, student and faculty exchange programs, and joint seminars aimed at enriching academic experiences for both institutions. His presentation highlighted the forward-thinking approach adopted by the colleges to empower students with global competencies.

Representing Pamulang University, Mr Bobi Agustian, a key member of the institution’s Cooperation Institution, shed light on the strategic opportunities presented by the MoU signed between DU and Pamulang University. Mr. Agustian emphasized the potential of bridging academic expertise between India and Indonesia to create a robust framework for knowledge sharing.

Further insights were offered by Prof. Kholil Azis, Head of the International Cooperation Division at Pamulang University. Prof. Azis emphasized the need for extensive cooperation between the two institutions to nurture globally aware students. Supporting this, Dr. Guntarto Widodo, from Pamulang University’s International Cooperation Subdivision, elaborated on how this collaboration aligns with Pamulang’s mission of transcending national boundaries to create a dynamic and globally relevant academic environment.

A Path Towards Global Competence

The meeting witnessed active participation from senior faculty members from both institutions, including Prof. Bijender Kumar, Prof. Sujit Kumar, Prof. Deepali Jain, Prof. Mamta, Prof. Poonam Mittal, Prof. Navin Kumar, Dr Rakesh Sahani, Dr Mohnish Kumar, Dr Kislay Kumar Singh, and Dr Mitu Dash. Their presence underscored the collective enthusiasm and commitment of both colleges toward making the partnership a success.

The discussions reaffirmed the mutual goal of nurturing globally competent individuals through innovative academic programs and cross-cultural exchanges. This partnership seeks to enrich the learning experiences of students while enabling them to tackle challenges in an increasingly interconnected world.

Implementation of the MoU Signed Between DU and Pamulang University

As the meeting concluded, representatives from both institutions expressed eagerness to translate their discussions into actionable initiatives. Planned programs include student and faculty exchanges, collaborative research projects, and cultural interactions designed to promote mutual understanding. Joint seminars and workshops will also provide platforms for exchanging ideas and exploring solutions to global challenges.

The MoU signed between DU and Pamulang University symbolizes a shared vision of strengthening academic and cultural ties between India and Indonesia.
