30 Skill-Based Courses at DU SOL Launched by CISBC

CISBC has introduced 30 Skill-Based Courses at DU SOL to improve abilities in areas like cyber security, tax assessment, driving, & English.

The Delhi University School of Open Learning is now accepting applications from prospective students for the Centre for Innovative Skill-Based Courses (CISBC). This initiative’s application period opened on February 16. The main goal of the CISBC programme is to fundamentally alter the field of skill development by providing learners from diverse backgrounds with worthwhile chances through skill-based courses at DU SOL.

A variety of short-term courses are available from the Centre for Innovative Skill-Based Courses (CISBC) to improve abilities in areas like cyber security, tax assessment, driving, and the English language. Registration for these Skill-Based Courses at DU SOL will conclude on March 15, 2024, with the courses scheduled to commence on April 2, 2024. According to Payal Mago, the Director of SOL, these skill-based certificate courses are designed to provide valuable opportunities for individuals to improve their employability. The courses cater to the diverse needs of individuals and job requirements.

The CISBC portfolio comprises 30 Skill-Based Courses at DU SOL, including English Proficiency, GST Executive, Cyber Security, Tax Assessment, Motor Driving, Medical Transcription, Radio Jockeying, Bakery and Confectionery, A/C and Refrigerator Repair, Beauty and Hair Make-up. Emphasising their effectiveness, Mago highlighted that these courses are job-oriented, offering practical skills that align with current job demands. The intention is to equip participants with relevant skills that enhance their professional prospects.

These Skill-Based Courses at DU SOL not only offer affordability but also boast certificates jointly recognized by Delhi University and esteemed national/international organisations, enhancing the value of students’ resumes.

To promote inclusivity, courses with fees exceeding Rs 1000 extend a generous offering. Upon completion of the batch, 10% of supernumerary seats are earmarked for the Economically Weaker Section at subsidised rates. This opportunity, however, is subject to a meticulous screening process for eligible candidates.

Given the limited availability of seats, prospective candidates are encouraged to promptly submit their applications to secure enrollment. The CISBC presents a diverse array of Skill-Based Courses at DU SOL catering to various domains, ranging from English Proficiency and GST Executive to specialised fields like Cyber Security, Tax Assessment, Motor Driving, Medical Transcription, Radio Jockeying, Bakery and Confectionery, A/C and Refrigerator Repair, and Beauty and Hair Makeup. These programmes’ practical focus guarantees that students are well-equipped to meet the demands of the working world.

With limited seats available, Professor Mago urged prospective candidates to promptly submit their applications to secure a spot in these sought-after courses. This initiative not only broadens educational horizons but also aligns educational pursuits with practical, industry-relevant skills.
