The CUET centres are where?Eligibility criteria to apply for CUETConclusion

As per UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar, approximately 14 lakh forms have now been obtained from the very first Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate (CUET-UG) this year, representing a 41per cent raise from the very first edition the year before.  In terms of candidates, CUET-UG is still the 2nd most popular entrance test in the nation.

Delhi University received the most CUET-UG applications with the maximum number of applications from UP

The Central University’s entrance test (CUET) was earlier known as Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET). It is being conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency). Candidates can be admitted to various undergraduate, integrated, post-graduate, diploma, certification courses, and research programs in 45 central universities of India. This article will discuss the exam pattern, admission criteria, format, how to apply, eligibility criteria, and fee structure.

A sum of 16 lacks 85 thousand students registered for the 2023 CUET-UG. Approximately 14 lacks of those applicants have compensated the registration fee & completed the form, an increase of 4 lakh participants from the previous year. There’ll be a 41 per cent rise in the total number of candidates taking the CUET-UG in 2023.

12 lakh 50 thousand students enrolled for the CUET-UG’s first edition, & approximately 10 lacks of them forwarded application forms. With such an estimate of 18 lakh enrolments, the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) for medical admissions is India’s biggest entrance exam.

We have also seen an increase in the number of participating universities. In 2022, it was 90, but in 2023 it rose to 242. This significant rise indicates that CUET-UG is becoming a popular option for admissions in undergraduate programmes,

Chairman Mr Kumar

The number of candidates from J&k has increased noticeably. 13,021 students from such a province took the CUET-UG in total 2022. However, this number will grow to 82,655 in 2023, a 6.3-fold rise.

Students applied to CUET-UG last year in 59 various countries.  1,000 students from 74 European countries, Asian, American, and Gulf nations made up this total in 2023. The last date to apply for the CUET-UG examination is 30th March and the exam will be conducted from 21st May to 31st May.

A total of 43 universities have adopted CUET as part of their admissions process, including Aligarh Muslim University, Asam University, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Benaras Hindu University, Andhra Pradesh Central University, South Bihar Central University, Gujrat Central University, Haryana Central University, Himachal Pradesh Central University, Jammu Central University, and others.

The CUET centres are where?

For candidates, particularly those in remote and rural areas, to practice and feel confident passing the CBT, NTA has built, established, and erected a network of test centres following the standards of the Ministry of Education.

13 foreign cities as well as 547 Indian cities host CUET events. All major cities, including Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Kanpur, Jammu, Kolkata, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Udaipur, Indore, Surat, Srinagar, and others—as well as Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Kanpur, Kolkata, Coimbatore, and others—conduct the test. Candidates should select their preferred CUET exam centre when completing the application form because there are only a certain number of seats available at each centre for each exam date.

Eligibility criteria to apply for CUET

  • Applicants should first submit an online form for CUET on the organization’s website to be considered. The applicant must register for an account by providing contact details like their name, address, and phone number. A username and password are generated.
  • Candidates must then complete the CUET application form by providing their academic information, program choice, and exam city selection. The candidate must then log in once more to upload any documents that contain registration information.
  • Students must have completed their 12th grade to apply to central universities’ undergraduate programs. They must have received at least 45% for the SC/ST category and at least 50% for the general category.

Conclusion

In general, the country has successfully implemented CUET 2022. In Delhi, the overall participation rate ranged from 75% to 80% at all stages. The Ministry anticipates that the CUET examination will be conducted more successfully and continuously in the upcoming years.

CUET is a cutting-edge tool designed to democratize the admissions process for students, allowing them to concentrate on their preferred subjects and ultimately get accepted into their ideal college or university. Candidates from all across the nation will therefore have equal opportunities and a shared platform.
