Hindu College at Delhi University recently marked a significant milestone, celebrating 125 years since its establishment. To commemorate this historic occasion, a special program was organised, Featuring the esteemed presence of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar as the chief guest. On the momentous 125th foundation day of Hindu College, Dhankhar delivered an inspiring address, urging the attending students to contribute actively towards the vision of a developed India.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar issued a call to action in his address to the students, emphasising the critical role that the younger generation will play in determining the direction of the nation. His remarks inspired the Hindu College students to be agents of growth and improvement by striking a chord with their sense of duty and ambition. In addition to celebrating the institution’s rich history, the occasion gave students a reason to get excited and committed, which helped them make a group decision to keep helping India advance.

Dhankhar Inaugurated The Boys Hostel

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar laid the foundation stone for the Boys Hostel at the college. Accompanied by esteemed guests, Vice President Dhankhar also took part in the inauguration of the college souvenir and the special edition of Vidyarthi magazine, titled Dharohar. The event was a celebration of academic milestones and a symbol of the collective dedication to the educational legacy fostered by the institution.

Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar marked the 125th Foundation Day of Hindu College on February 15th by ceremonially unveiling publications and a commemorative coin, paying tribute to the institution’s profound contributions to India’s heritage and progress. The event, attended by faculty, students, and dignitaries, featured Vice-President Dhankhar highlighting Hindu College’s pivotal role in shaping India’s history. He praised the college’s historical legacy of instilling a sense of independence and nationalism among its alumni and also presented gold medals to deserving students.

Inauguration of Boys Hostel on 125th foundation day of Hindu college

During his address, Vice-President Dhankhar shared reflections on India’s rich civilizational ethos, urging the younger generation to embrace the spirit of Viksit Bharat. Dhankhar’s remarks resonated with the audience, emphasising the broader cultural and educational impact of Hindu College in fostering a spirit of responsibility and ethical governance.

Stressing the transformative potential of technology, Dhankhar inspired youth to direct disruptive inventions towards the betterment of society. To transform businesses and improve security, he saw India as a leader in the use of digital technology, quantum computing, and artificial intelligence. Dhankhar pointed out the unavoidable roadblocks and urged the young people to keep going despite them by showing them as necessary steps on the way to achievement rather than as impediments. He exhorted them to actively engage in nation-building projects and to remain watchful against anti-national narratives.

Dhankhar extolled the virtues of technology’s transformational capacity and exhorted the younger generation to use disruptive technologies to advance society. With an eye towards India being a leader in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and digital innovations, he advocated for industry redefining and increased security. Recognising the difficulties that lay ahead, Dhankhar counselled young people to see failures as chances for personal development and emphasised the value of tenacity. He also exhorted them to actively support nation-building initiatives and to continue to be on the lookout for narratives that are hostile to their country.

Top Rankers Were Honoured

During the 125th-anniversary celebration of Delhi University, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar bestowed gold medals and awards upon the exceptionally skilled students who achieved the highest marks in the 2022-23 academic session. The ceremony served as a momentous occasion to recognize and honour the outstanding academic achievements of these students, showcasing their dedication and excellence within the university.

Amidst the festivities, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar personally presented the prestigious accolades, highlighting the commitment of Delhi University to applaud and reward the academic prowess of its students. This recognition ceremony underscored the significance of scholarly accomplishments, fostering a spirit of excellence and motivation among the talented individuals who excelled in their studies during the specified academic session.

The 125th foundation day of Hindu College was celebrated with exuberant grandeur and delight. The celebratory event witnessed the esteemed presence of Delhi University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Yogesh Singh, Hindu College Governing Body Chairman TCA Rangachari, and distinguished alumni from Hindu College and Bhamashah. Principal Professor Anju Srivastava extended a warm welcome to the guests, adorning them with shawls and presenting them with college mementoes. 

During the festivities, Prof. Srivastava shared noteworthy details about the college’s achievements, setting the stage for a jubilant reflection on its rich legacy. Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh took a moment to extend heartfelt congratulations to the college for its remarkable accomplishments. The commemorative gathering served as a platform for acknowledging and celebrating Hindu College’s profound contributions over its 125-year journey, with the presence of key figures highlighting the significance of this academic milestone.
